Skrzydło akrobacyjne BURN

Too hot to fly straight on. The glider with the dynamic groove.

The Burn is a fantastic mixture between acro and freestyle glider. Despite the small surface area this glider is also great for flying thermals... let it BURN, baby! Dynamic SAT, Coconut, MC Twist, Tumbling - or simply flying thermals - freestyling has never been as much fun!

Features

The Burn is a glider that meets all demands of a freestyle pilot:

  • small surface area (18.3 sqm projected)
  • elegant silhouette (aspect ratio 5.7)
  • perfected for SAT manoeuvres
  • high trim speed
  • manageable extreme flight situations
  • very dynamic without disturbing roll or pitch tendency
  • freestyle optimized brake setup

Finish

The quality and materials used for the Burn meet the high Airwave standards.

Special features:
  • Reinforcements

The main and top lines and all important areas on the canopy are reinforced. 120kg Edelrid lines are used for the upper lines and 340kg Edelrid lines (normally used for tandem gliders) are used for the main lines. They are extremely strong.

  • Hybrid sail

This sail - that Airwave has tested for two years - includes Gelvenor (45g) as well as Porcher (39g). Gelvenor sail cloth is undoubtedly one of the longest lasting on the market. We use it in the front third of the canopy, as stronger forces and therefore most wear occur here. The lighter Porcher Marine cloth is used in the middle and back, so take-off is easy and total weight of the glider is reduced. We are sure to have found the perfect solution for combining durability and low weight.

  • Closed cells in wing tips
  • Acro handles

These acro handles are soft and large, and give a perfect feedback to the canopy.

  • Suitable

The Burn is for ambitious acro and freestyle pilots, as well as pilots who want to fly competitions. The glider is trimmed by Chris Geist (Airwave employee and acro pilot) who made it suitable for flying aerobatics. Some top pilots at this year's international competitions fly the Burn.
